Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born in Johnstown, Newyork in 1815. Her parents were Margaret Livingston and Daniel Cady. They were very respectable and prominent people in Johnstown. She was soon educated by the help of her father at Johnstown's academy and at Emma Willard's Troy Female Seminary in New York.
